The Hinckley Physiotherapy Clinic Ltd is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our patients, staff and social media visitors.
This is reflected in the way we collect, store, use and share personal information.
Information Collection
Patient information is collected in the following ways:

From Clinic staff via initial telephone contact

Physiotherapy Clinic records.
Information Storage
Your personal information is stored in a locked room if on paper records. Once discharged, your information is stored electronically on a secure encrypted database via industry leading practice management software. Back up data is kept away from the Clinic in case of fire, on an external hard drive.
Physiotherapy Clinical records are kept for 8 years from the date of the patients last visit, or if the patient is a child, until their 25th birthday. If they were 17 at the time of their last visit, records are kept until their 26th birthday.
Once legal retention periods have been reached, your information is either securely shredded if on paper records or permanently deleted if kept electronically.
All computers are password protected and can only be accessed by staff at the Clinic. We have no off site access.
Clinical cases are not discussed outside of the Clinic under any circumstances. Any internal discussions regarding a patient’s ongoing care will only be shared with another Health Care Professional, with the express consent of the patient.
Information Use
As part of your Physiotherapy assessments and treatments with us, we are required by Law to make a record of your care with us.
You have a right to see these records if you wish.
In order to provide you with the best care, advice and treatment, it may be necessary for us to share some of the information we have obtained from you directly, or through our assessment, with other Health Care Professionals. We do not need your written permission to do this, but we will always make sure you are aware of the communications we make.
You have a right to refuse us sharing your information.
Information Sharing

We do not share your information with any 3rd Parties (solicitors, employers) without obtaining your written permission beforehand.
We limit access to your personal information to those members of staff who we believe need to come into contact with that information in able to continue with your care in an effective and appropriate manner.
We like to share your personal success stories on our Clinic’s social media sites. Your permission will always be obtained prior to this happening.
